Domestic Machines made by White SMCo

White Sewing Machine Corporation bought Domestic SMCo and King SMCo in 1924. They continued to operate Domestic as a subsidiary at least into the 1950s.

Telltale signs that your Domestic labeled machine was made by White

Models without a clean cutoff between Domestic and White

White continued to make the following models and it is not clear where the cutoff is between Domestic and White. Later White versions have different decals and minor design changes in some cases, and the X in the serial number mentioned above, but early ones appear identical to the Domestic versions.

  • Note: All Franklin Rotaries were made by White.
